This original quilt design is the perfect answer for using those special fabrics you have that you love so much you don't want to cut them up! Instead, this pattern allows you to choose a frame fabric and supporting background fabrics to create a quilt design that features that special fabric!

The versions of this quilt that I have made include a variety of fabrics so that texture also becomes part of the story of the quilt. In my case, I used combinations of batiks, printed cottons, dupioni silks... but the design would be lovely also with some shot cottons or yarn-dyes thrown into the mix along with printed cottons and some silk.

The pattern is downloadable and the quilt is a beginner level design, totally manageable by new quilters. The quilt finishes at 54" x 66" and can be easily enlarged by adding more background blocks on the perimeter.
