Basically Bauhaus celebrates the geometric shapes so favoured by the Bauhaus school of design. And as with many of my quilts, it also celebrates TEXTURE!

The foreground fabrics are a selection of textured fabrics add depth to the design that goes beyond the shapes that are the basis of the design concept. Woven cottons and cotton-linens, printed cotton-linen, and a clear yellow solid all play nicely together and provide range of textures. The background fabric is an AGF PURE Solids cream, which nicely highlights the graphic nature of the design. All my kits use only premium quality quilting fabrics so that your finished quilt will last a lifetime and be washer/dryer friendly.

The quilt finishes at 60" x 72". It is a great size for use as a throw on a couch or chair, or as an accent piece in a bedroom. The clean lines create a quilt that fits comfortably in a contemporary decor. One of two of the wovens are more easily worked with using a lightweight cotton fusible stabilizer and so that is also included with this kit, along with instructions on its use.

You have the option of buying this kit with backing fabric or without. Backing fabrics are chosen to complement but not compete with the quilt design and are again premium quality quilting cottons.

The pattern includes templates for the half-circle and the half-circle hole. My YouTube video demonstrates the insetting of the curved piece, and is helpful in addition to written instructions, particularly for those who are new to curves. This is a great chance to learn how simple curved piecing actually is... and to add a new tool to your quilting toolbox. This quilt is suitable for beginner quilters. The piecing is not complex and the instructions are clear. You will have fun making this quilt!
