What to do if you lose your wallet in Japan.

Written by Lorna Shapiro

Did you know that if you lose your wallet in Japan when you are out and about and don’t have money or credit cards, you can go to a police substation (which are everywhere) and they will loan you $10 (equivalent in Yen) which should be enough to get you back home so that you can deal with the lost wallet? In the coming days, you are expected to go back to that police substation and return the $10. You will NOT be able to get on public transit without payment (as you can here) so, instead, they have this means of handling the situation… How cool is that?
